String quartet. Perfect for a wedding reception. As your guests make there way from the church to your wedding reception there to greet them is that most beautiful of sounds, the string quartet. There is also the option of usig the string quartet for the wedding music and then getting them to relocate for the next stage in the proceedings. In summer the quartet can play on the lawn outside the marquee and then move in doors for the wedding breakfast. If you use a professional string quartet noise will never be an issue as the band will know exactly at what level to play in order for your guests to enjoy the music whilst still be able to catch up with friends and familys news and gossip.
In less clement times the string quartet is just as attractive in a hall, hotel or event venue. The look of the string quartet tends to be formal, evening dress and evening gowns and so lends a formal and gracefull ambience to the proceedings. They have the benefit of being totally acoustic and so, with very little effort, can relocate from one position to another. This is particularly useful with the English summer when all four seasons can co-exist in one afternoon!
What repertoire do you want from your string quartet? Most string quartets can play a mixture of classic repertoire ranging from Bach, Beethoven and Mozart through to songs from the shows to the great American classic standards of people like Cole Porter, Jerome Kern and George Gershwin.
