Wedding Jazz Band

Wedding Jazz Band

Wedding Jazz Band. As the year progresses people in the music business are finding an increase in the number of enquiries for a wedding jazz band. “It has come later, this interest in the wedding jazz band” says Jeff Williams of Jazz not Jazz, live music agency. “But that said there is still lots of interest in this area of the market.”

It is easy to see why. The wedding jazz band has become ubiquitous in recent years. As background ambience a jazz band for a wedding cannot be beaten. Whether it is the look of the band either dressed in stripes or sharp suits, the look of the instruments, the happy sounds wafting across the field as guests sip Pimms and Champagne and chat to friends and family, the wedding jazz band is still the perfect accompaniment.

“Remember” says Jeff “you can go two ways with the wedding jazz band”. Acoustically or Electrically. Acoustically tends to be old style, stripes, blazers, King of the Swingers, banjos and sousaphones. Electrics mean pianos, singers, saxophones. Much more sophisticated. “ With this in mind you can decide which way you want your wedding jazz band to go. You will want them to reflect what atmosphere you want to portray.

With regards to numbers in the wedding jazz band: remember that the reception music is background atmosphere. Three or four jazz band members is fine. For the evening part of the wedding four or five players is usually enough for dancing. Make sure your wedding jazz band can play for dancing. Not all jazz music is suitable for dancing. Make sure you have a wedding jazz band can play swing, jive, rhythm and blues and even some classic soul. Ask to see their repertoire list. You don't want to be subjected to a jazz club style rambling from a John Coltrane acolyte as you stand on the dance floor.

“This is why we always recommend the band Lounge Sounds” explains Jeff Williams “they play music for dancing and are one of the best WEDDING JAZZ BANDS around.”

Lounge Sounds can be seen at www.jazznotjazz.co.uk where you can contact Jeff Williams to discuss your needs for a wedding jazz band further.
